According to the 2025 Annual Review Report on Cosmetics released by the National Institutes for Food and Drug Control, China had 22,952 cosmetics registrants and filing entities by the end of 2025, marking a steady growth for five consecutive years. Meanwhile, data released by the China Association of Fragrance, Flavor and Cosmetic Industries revealed that, as of 2025, China’s cosmetics industry had generated all-channel transaction revenue exceeding CNY 1 trillion for three consecutive years, maintaining its position as the world’s largest consumer market.
Meanwhile, consumers are moving away from blind faith in “active ingredient concentration” and turning instead toward evidence-based efficacy. Precision skincare and personalized skincare are also moving from theory into practice. These trends indicate that China’s cosmetics industry is at an unprecedented technological turning point, where scientific and technological innovation have become the key drivers of quality improvement and growth across the industry.
Responding to the evolving needs of the industry, this year’s PCHi Technology Summit is themed “Technology Beyond Boundaries · Value in Symbiosis”. Under the guidance of leading experts from the PCHi Cosmetics Science & Technology Innovation Committee (CSTIC), the Summit will feature a main plenary and parallel breakout sessions. It will focus on more than ten in-demand fields, including policies and regulations, ingredients and formulations, efficacy evaluation, scalp care, medical research and co-creation, light medical aesthetics, and synthetic biology. The event aims to pool industry wisdom, share innovative achievements, and promote technical exchanges. A dedicated session showcasing the PCHi Fountain Awards 2026 winning products will also be held on site, where award-winning companies will present their cutting-edge technologies.
We look forward to unlocking frontier technologies with you and helping the industry make breakthrough progress.

l Corporate strategies in the context of regulatory change
Breakout Sessions
Ø Skin Mechanisms, Collaborative Medical Research and Co-creation
Highlights: The skincare industry has entered an era of dermatological science-driven beauty. Consumer perception has shifted from “ingredient concentration worship” to a demand for mechanism-based scientific understanding. Consumers are not content with knowing what works—they want to know why it works. This is compelling brands to draw on skin science and build a complete scientific narrative and basis for consumer trust.
Closely aligned with the industry’s most pressing topics, the forum on Skin Mechanisms, Collaborative Medical Research and Co-creation will be structured around three major themes: anti-wrinkle and firming; soothing and repair; pigmentation correction and brightening. The forum intends to bring together authoritative dermatologists, leading universities, research institutes, and finished-product enterprises to explore the latest skin mechanisms, frontier scientific discoveries, and practical application pathways. It aims to bridge the gap between R&D and clinical practice and identify feasible solutions for collaborative medical research and co-creation.
Key Focus Areas:
l Anti-aging research, including aging biomarkers, extracellular matrix (ECM), and epigenetics, etc.
l Mechanistic pathways, targets, and new solutions for soothing and repair
l Research on pigmentation correction and brightening, including approaches to gentle brightening
l Systematic research on trending active ingredients
l Collaborative medical research and co-creation solutions for dermatology-based skincare products
Ø Cosmetics R&D and Formulation
Highlights: Formulation is the ultimate expression of cosmetic technology. Driven by the continuously evolving consumer market, formulation development has moved from “ingredient stacking” to systematic design and precise alignment to consumer needs.
The forum on Cosmetics R&D and Formulation at this year’s PCHi Technology Summit will bring together leading cosmetic formulators, centered on formulation R&D, and will be structured around three major sections:
[Practical Innovation]: Formulation strategies for efficacy cosmetics, the silver economy, and personalization;
[Application and Implementation]: The science behind high-performing product formulations;
[Future Outlook]: The integration of AI, transdermal delivery, and dosage form innovation in formulation development.
In addition, the forum will feature discussions on capitalizing on market opportunities and translating technological advances into competitive advantages, supporting growth through science-based formulation.
Ø Hair and Scalp Care
Highlights: With consumers’ awareness of precision care rising significantly, scalp care is evolving beyond basic cleansing toward the precision care approach of skinification, emerging as a market segment with substantial growth potential in excess of CNY 100-billion.
This year’s forum on Hair and Scalp Care will focus on hot topics including hair-loss prevention and scalp care, supporting brands and R&D professionals in exploring innovative technological pathways in this field.
Ø Development and Application of Light Medical Aesthetics Products
Highlights: Frost & Sullivan projects China’s non-surgical medical aesthetics market will reach CNY 415.7 billion by 2030. “Cosmetics–device integration” is moving beyond a marketing concept to become a science-based solution powered by clinical medicine, regenerative materials, and related technologies.
Centered on full-cycle care in light medical aesthetics, this year’s forum on the Development and Application of Light Medical Aesthetics Products will address four key pillars: mechanistic insights; brand development solutions; precise personalization solutions; and science communication. The forum will contribute to building a new industrial ecosystem centered on collaborative medical research and cosmetics–device synergy.
Key Focus Areas:
l Mechanisms of skin damage caused by energy-based cosmetic procedures and the principles of professional repair
