Jump Start the Year with PCHi 2012
Directive event set to attract more attendees than ever

Beijing, 17 January 2012 | Just as companies are gearing up for the year ahead, Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi) 2012 will be opening its doors to professionals from the global personal care and home care industry. As the first industry event for the calendar year, PCHi 2012 promises to again be a directive event, setting the industry on the right path for 2012.

The fifth edition of the trade show will be returning to Shanghai, held from 27 to 29 February 2012 at the World Expo Theme Pavilion. The event venue is located just beside the China Pavilion, which is well-known for its distinctive roof made of traditional brackets.

At PCHi 2012, products from a total of 279 exhibiting companies will be showcased to an estimated 5,000 trade professionals from over 31 countries. And for the first time, French cosmetic and perfumery cluster, Cosmetic Valley, will be joining the show, an indication that PCHi is gaining recognition on a global level.

Daniel Chan, Project Director, PCHi, said, “In recent years, more and more businesses have begun to recognize the importance of the Chinese cosmetics and toiletries (C&T) market. This has elevated the importance of PCHi, which serves as a gateway into the domestic industry. As a result, PCHi has been growing year-on-year, and we anticipate that the coming edition will have even more attendees than ever. We are excited about PCHi 2012 because we are introducing more new marketing elements to aid exhibitors and visitors alike in their businesses.”

PCHi Conference

The PCHi 2012 conference will feature the widest scope of topics yet, providing local and international participants with a solid professional platform to gather and exchange market insights.

In satisfying the curiosity that manufacturers and suppliers have about the latest industry trends, the Technology track will encompass topics on skincare, hair care and color cosmetics, which are amongst the most popular personal care products in China. The Formulators’ Workshop will feature live demonstrations and a hands-on session for formulators and laboratory researchers to learn from experts. Speakers at the Marketing Trends sessions will impart knowledge about catering to eco-conscious consumers, as well as inform Chinese suppliers how they can expand their reach by working with foreign companies. Also, various exhibitors will reveal the science and innovation behind their latest product technologies as part of the New Technology Session. This track is open to all PCHi attendees and is held on the exhibition floor. And lastly, as part of the Regulatory Summit, delegates will learn more about the developments in China’s regulatory framework for the industry.

PCHi Product Zone
PCHi 2012 will feature a brand new section on the show floor – the PCHi Product Zone. This Zone is divided into four segments, featuring 35 companies that offer specialty products in the following categories – color cosmetic ingredients, cosmeceutical ingredients, flavors and fragrances, and natural extracts. Visitors with specific ingredient needs in the four featured categories can easily browse various companies’ offerings conveniently, all within the Zone at PCHi 2012.

Media Networking Session
This year, all PCHi attendees will have the opportunity to meet editors from various international trade publications. Held on the second afternoon of PCHi 2012 (28 February), the Media Networking Session will allow manufacturers and suppliers to effectively capitalize on the PCHi platform to share company and product news with editors from a host of influential trade media titles.

Attendees of this event will network with editors from CosmeticsDesign (USA), Expression Cosmetique (France), Happi China (China), Household and Personal Care Today (Italy), InnoLab (Thailand), Korea Cosmetic News (South Korea), Raw Materials & Packaging (Russia), SPC Asia (UK), Personal Care Asia (UK), and The Chemical Daily (Japan).

Hosted Buyers
As with every edition, Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions (RSE), the organizer of PCHi, plays host to a number of top tier buyers as part of the Hosted Buyer Program. PCHi 2012 will welcome representatives from over 20 companies, including Johnson & Johnson China, Leasun, L’Oreal China, Cellina, Jala. This initiative offers exhibiting companies the opportunity to interface with key decision makers from renowned manufacturers and as a result, reap the benefits of their investment in PCHi.

China Personal Care & Cosmetics Innovation Awards
And for the second year in a row, RSE and Ringier Trade Media are working together to organize the China Personal Care & Cosmetics Innovation Awards. These accolades recognize outstanding personal care ingredients that have been released in China between 2010 and 2011. The award ceremony will be held on the first evening of PCHi 2012.

Visitors and buyers planning to attend PCHi 2012 should sign up at the event website before 12 February 2012 to avoid entry fees of 100 RMB and waiting lines at the event venue. Pre-registered individuals will also receive a complimentary gift.

PCHi 2012 will be held in Shanghai at the World Expo Theme Pavilion, Hall 3, from 27 to 29 February 2012, and is expected to attract more than 5,000 industry professionals. For more information, please visit www.pchi-china.com.
